> interested:
>
> I won't call this the first meeting of the Playa Del
> Fuego Land Planning Committee...it's more like the
> "0th" meeting...the one where we try to figure
> out how to organize the committee and determine the general
> direction we want to go. The basic idea is the PDF Board of
> Directors recognized the need to do some mid-to-long term
> planning/investigation of the idea of buying some land for
> a permanent home for PDF. There has been no decision to do
> definitely do this (buy land that is), but we did decide to
> do some exploration of various ideas.
>
> The meeting will be next Sunday, July 13th from 4 - 6 PM.
> It's going to be down here in DC at my new exclusive
> urban enclave...if you are interested in attending, please
> send me an email offlist (odradek@iname.com). More info is
> coming on the agenda...if you would like to have something
> on the agenda, please let me know. The REAL first meeting
> of the LPC is going to be a few weeks after Burning Man but
> definitely before Fall PDF.

I am trying to work out the details now, but it appears that he posted an ad on our classifieds and was emailed by 6 people (that we can tell right now) that ended up purchasing over $1300 worth in total of fake invite codes. He is based in the Pennsylvania area, which is why I am posting this in your group.

I spent a long while yesterday tracking down all the information I could on this scammer and will gladly pass this info along in private, for legal purposes, to anyone that need it. As far as Transformus, LLC, there isn't much legal action we can take since it was not a Transformus sale that took place, but I urge everyone that got got sold fake invites to alert your local authorities and also take action into finding more information about him.

Please contact Jace or Vespa if you have any further questions jace at transformus.com | Also if you are a event organizer or ANYONE that would like the info I have gathered on this individual, please hit me up.

This is what I will post publicly:

he uses the email debivo63@yahoo.com for transactions and paypal payments, we just found out in thye past few minutes that this is in fact his mom's email

his chat nickname on AOL is aphemix

his email in my system is aphemix@gmail.com

His listing on the transformus site has the name Shane

his ip address when he signed up was 76.124.44.94

he is located in Lancaster / Columbia Pennsylvania

the paypal account is DebiVO63@yahoo.com and says the name is Debi Violante, which is his mom

One more note, if you have bought or sold invites, even if you know they are real, please email jace at transformus.com and inform him of this transfer so we have a record of it

UPDATE: I have been in touch with the scammer and he has paid all but 2 people back after the threat of legal action. If anyone else has been taken by this sad individual, please contact Jace!

Sorry for this everyone, wish there weren't people like this in the world.

Anyway, I am leaving Atlanta in August with my wife to make a little treck up north to live in this little town near you called Philadelphia...we are moving to Mount Airy with my father in law for a year or two....and no, i am not a 33 year old man running home, haha, we is a wonderful guy, great friend and just amazing fellow that is more like a friend to us that anything. He has a HUGE house there and offered us an entire floor if we come and live with him for a while, we couldn't pass it up.

ANYWAY...just letting you know I will be up there soon and I have extensive web, graphics and programming knowledge that can be put to good use in the burner community. Anyone that has been around and posting on transformus.com lately knows I love to bust my ass for a good cause...up until yesterday I hadn't slept in 3 days due to all the Burning Man high school style drama, whatever to that shit. I would love to sit and say I am upset that they did what they did, but why? Now we are our own entity, we get to rebuild from the ground up with a fantastic group of people that really care, and the best part is, we learned all the things that were done wrong the first time, so now transformus is going to become even more magical than it ever was

Dear Mysterians,

It is with great sadness and discomfort that Transformus is no longer an official Burning Man Regional Event. The Board of Directors received an e-mail from Burning Man yesterday stating all of the allegations and formal complaints made by the community. The decision to make Transformus not an official burn was based on the BOD's lack of Civic Responsibility and Transparency. An official statement will be released from Burning Man soon entailing all of the details in depth with there reasoning.

We as BOD would just like to let everyone know that at no point in time did we mean for any of this to happen and we did our best to make sense of the madness that has occurred this year leading up to Transformus 2008. For all of those in the community who wanted action and change you have officially been granted the reward of making Transformus an Unofficial burn. Never once did we as BOD mean to cause drama and angst in the community. We are just a group of normal people, who tried to the best of our abilities to bring you to the magical place that is known as Mysteria. We are only human and the lack of Civic Responsibility and Transparency was never at any point in time meaningfully sought out.

As many of you know most of the BOD members have resigned b/c of all of the negative energy, heart ache, and personal reasons that have develop our the past few months. Moving forward however there will be great changes that will take place after Transformus 2008 has happened in order to re-build our community that seems to be filled with so much anger. With that being said, the BOD opens up to the community as to where the future lies in running this event after Transformus 2008. For those of you who have wanted answers and decisions and change I ask you to step up to the challenge of making Tranformus the way the community wants it to become. There are still just a few BOD members including myself that will help facilitate the means to making the situation at hand better after the event

Finally, to all of you who are still coming and making it to Transformus 2008 we want to personally thank you for believing in the magical place know as Mysteria b/c regardless of all the drama, anger, and confusion we will rise to make Transformus 2008 the best burn to date.

Sincerely,
A lot has happened in the past month to us and we need to pull together and work hard to rise up and become stronger. Some BOD members have prior engagements that they are working on rescheduling, but we are aiming to have as many as we can there. I am also asking that all Team Leads try and make it, as there are a lot of questions for them also.

We want to make sure and lay down some guidelines for those that want to participate. The meeting will follow the following format:

1. All questions must be submitted by email to jace@transformus.com until 2 hours before the chat session, anything after 6pm EST will not be answered this week. As some of the replies might be a little longer than usual, we are using this format to give the BOD and Team Leads appropriate time to type replies. Each BOD and Team Lead member will be given an opportunity to paste their replies, but please keep all question until all BOD and Team Lead members have replied.

2. After each question is answered there will be a 10 minute open forum to ask any questions you might have about the current question only.

3. We ask that while a question is being ask and answered that users in the chat keep their comments to a minimum, repeated disruptions will result in a temp 60 second ban from the chat.

4. After all questions are asked and answered we will spend some time on an open forum to discuss what is on everyones mind in better detail. Once again, this is not an open forum to disrupt or belittle, this is to talk calmly, learn and teach. The open forum will last until we decide it is over, I am not setting any time limit on this.

Why the 60 second temp bannings?
As a community I feel it is in our best interest, especially with planning type conversations, to not get so heated that you belittle someone else or make someone else feel lower than you. Yes, some of us are smarter than others and some of us think we can do better than others at their job, but that is exactly what this chat is about, talking everything out face to face (sort of) and working through our issues. So, it is my decision that if someone starts to get out of line, start name calling, or trying to butt into one question with their own issues, that they need to be removed until they can act in a civilized manned and sitck to the format we decided on.

What to do if you are temp banned?
If you are temp banned you will be kicked from the room and will be brought to the login page again. Click the refresh button on your web browser so the login page comes up again, and when your 60 seconds is up, log in again. Please don't ask what was dicussed while you were gone, the chat logs from this meeting will be posted, you can see what was talked about when those are posted.

Ok, now that we have the specifics out of the way, how about we talk about this brand new shiney chat room?

How do I get in to the chat?
You have a few options, and all can be found on http://chat.transformus.com/
But let me explain what each one is

http://chat.transformus.com/flashchat.php is the basic chat room, it takes up your whole browser window. It is refreshed every 2 seconds with new replies

http://chat.transformus.com/flashchat.php is a much better interface for the chat room, it has a desktop appearance, and if you intend on using the private message system to talk privately to others, this is the best solution for you

http://chat.transformus.com/ajax/index.php is what is called an Ajax system, it is the same layout as the basic chat room, but instead of using flash for the chat, it uses what is called Ajax...what is ajax? it stands for Asynchrous Javascript and XML, and is essentially a way in which a website can update what you see on it without you having to refresh the page. That makes it perfect for rich web applications - websites which are aiming to act as much like traditional desktop applications as possible. Bottom line, it is like a normal web page, but updates itself instantly with new information when that new information is presented to it.
This is perfect for those that don't have broadband connections, slow computers or users that don't have flash installed

All of these will be listed on http://chat.transformus.com in the next day or so with explanations for each

OK, I think that is all you need to know for now, I hope to see a couple hundred of you in the chat

PLEASE REMEMBER TO HAVE ALL QUESTIONS SUBMITTED BY SUNDAY NIGHT AT 6PM EST

Thanks,

Jace

On Sunday we leave. There is also the chance that the Vets may ask for help with something else in preparation for Fall PDF, but I doubt it.

I know a bit off topic for this list, but..... Remember the bio gas generation project at BM 2007? It was a huge art car/ platform rig they worked on all week and finally fired up Sunday/ Monday morning. They tried to get it moving, but the transmition broke. Anyhow, if anyone knows the builders of that, or can give me some ideas it would be great.

I have an idea about a household biogas generator/digester (found an old patent from 1979) that could be installed in a fairly small area of a home owners yard (underground) and utilize human and food wastes for production of usable methane gas, and, if wanted, pure compost. If not, the byproduct can be easily sent down the sewer line.

This gas could be bottled for use in home heating, electrical generation, feeding back to the power grid and cutting your costs drastically, or even possible transportation applications.

My problem is figuring out how to draw off the methane and separate it from the CO2 produced, then liquefying the methane gas for bottling/storage. As it stands, the methane/CO2 produced can be used as is in a boiler or engine (modified for gas) but any over production gas would have to be vented. Why waste it? So, you see my dilemma.

My friends, you are the most educated bunch of people I have ever come across. I'm sure someone in this group can help a dumb plumber out.... .~Bob the Builder

For our videotaping this Saturday, June 21, we basically need one stationary video camera on a tri-pod, positioned on top of our media production van to capture the entire performance from a wide angle. (Arlington Independent Media will do the rest.)

We're also inviting fire safeties, an official videographer and an official photographer to join us in the inner circle at Burning Man 2008.

Mungo, who among other things is doing the pony for pdf this year, has just had Wild Shore Press publish his new novel. Its a sci-fi-modern-day-piracy-burner-gender-bender-global-warming-sex-drugs-and sailing sorta thing--you know mungo--and he sent me an early copy and its a great read. At the very least you should go over to wildshorepress.com and congratuate him, or maybe pony up three bucks and download the damn thing so you can at least say you saw it when you run into him and his hat at pdf this year.
I was a tad dubious about the higher attendance cap this time, but boy was I ever wrong about that.

The level of participation, art, volunteerism and general damn-you-folks-rock was outstanding.

My truck broke down when I was almost to PDF, and as a result I didn't get there until Saturday morning. I was concerned about how things were going to work out for the burning art and the main stack build. I needn't have worried! THANK YOU to all who participated, and in particular Jill; for all the fireteam organization you did (and many, many other reasons) you are light of my PDF life.

Come Monday morning, I did my usual round with the megaphone to get folks to help with the main burn stack cleanup. I was blown away by the number of volunteers! And most of you were NEWBIES! I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU! If I wasn't so horrid with names I would list you ALL here, but know that I remember you and that you have my undying respect and admiration. And after the main stack was put away, some of you even asked "what can we do next?". I think I came in my pants right then and there.

So THANK YOU to all the volunteers, the artists, the theme camp folks, the fire spinners, the hoopers, the musicians and DJs, and all those wonderful people who smiled and said hello when walking past. Oh, and THE VETS, and everyone else.

The bar has been raised. I am so very happy to be a part of this community.

1) Some folks took my 5-year old daughter's bike, which was back behind some tents, and went riding around on it. I'm sure it was fun, but it was not yours, and you clowns bent the training wheels so she was unable to ride it at PDF. You didn't even put it back; I found it about 100' away.

2) Sometime Saturday afternoon, some stage DJ blew the tweeters on the loaned speakers for the stage. ALL of the tweeters. The stage amp and mixer were found later cranked all the way up. This resulted in the sound for the musical being horrid, with many of the folks in the audience unable to hear the dialog, and feedback was a serious problem. We worked for five months on that musical, and someone's one hour of selfishness gave us no end of grief and lessened it for everyone else.

RESPECT, people. This kind of event works only if we respect each other's boundaries and treat the shared resources with the understanding that they are there for ALL. Screw them up and you screw up the event.

PDF is a wild and friendly place. ASK first. People will probably say yes. If they don't, deal with it.
You may be asking "Jill- wtf? I still haven't unpacked from the last burn and already you're asking for Pony applications for Fall PDF?" Why, yes I am. One big complaint I've heard from artists is that they don't have enough time to get their projects really ready, so I'm putting out the applications now and asking for them to be completed no later than June 27. I'll consult with my arts grants and fireteam colleagues and we'll have a decision no later than July 3. Besides, after this past burn, you're really psyched up now to build a Pony, right?

12 pm

Move your body! Instructor: Ian Smith
This class we will explore the relationship between the poi and your body. How different driving styles affect the body and visa versa. Then we will do some drills designed to give you more independent control over each hand and look at some unusual timings. The drills are designed to give you more freedom while improvising.

1:30 pm
Beginning Contact Juggling Instructor: Greg Maldonado
Learn how to use the fewest number of the simplest type of prop: one ball. Combining balancing, rolling and spinning to fluidly move a ball
across your body, contact juggling will broaden your idea of what juggling can be while deepening your understanding of your relationship with objects.

3:00 pm
Stalls and Stops Instructor: Greg Maldonado
Explore the science of stopping! Learn how to punctuate your spinning with 8 different types of stall in an endless number of combinations.
Then take home a series of exercises designed to unlock the full potential of stalls by using them to change timing, direction and planes.

4:30 pm
Beginning/Intermediate Contact Staff Instructor: Noel Yee

6:00 pm
Beginning Double Staves Instructor: Noel Yee
Learn double staff from the ground up in this class designed for the beginner. After a thorough examination of the many myriad ways to manipulate a staff we begin combining techniques to seamlessly integrate a second staff.

Please come out and support! These guys are really kickass spinners and exceptional teachers. Gimme a shout if you have any questions. Thanks!

- I was floating into another dimension of happiness while... meeting awesome new people, blowing bubbles into the air, watching the stars at night (which we don’t get to see in Manhattan), dancing to the beat of the drums after the burn, spinning, painting, hooping, (or rather learning how to)...

Every where I look here at work today there are no naked people, no friends, so shenanigans, no sparkles, no love, no fun, no color, no life, none of that. It was such a wonderful weekend it makes you wonder, why does "normal life" have to be so normal. I want to wear a tutu to work and have my tata's painted at lunch. I want to run through the office yelling on a megaphone about my current state of being. I want to talk to strangers like they're family. I just miss you all terribly. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Huuuuuge huuuuuge warm wrapping-up hugs of love and thanks to every single person who was at PDF this weekend. This is Dan, or Dank, or Stranger Dan, or Whammer, or Kitty, or Basskitty or whatever you may have called me during the past few days :D This was my FIRST BURN EVER, and I could not possibly have fit in more perfectly. When I first arrived at the greeter station, the very first thing I was asked was "OK: Who wants a shot?!" What an appropriate way to be introduced to the camp...
Over the past few days I got tied up and suspended from ropes, spanked innumerable times by some very very sexy ladies (with nice purple marks on my behind now for trophies and to serve as fond reminders)... I danced countless hours deep under beautiful house grooves, I hugged hundreds of people, cuddled with every person who was near me, blessed dozens of faces with kisses. I reached a point way beyond any orgasm, a moment of pure rapture and delight being buried under showers of rose petals in the pool by gleeful strangers who could not stop laughing and had tears streaming down our faces with love. I danced up on the tower of power platform saturday night, doing my crazy acid kitty dance until 5:am when the generatoror turned off and everybody was too drunk and asleep to turn it back on for me. I was CONSTANTLY being given drinks, even when i was already carrying drinks, and people were just pouring alchohol into my cups, giving me food, giving me love and attention, smoking me up, grabbing me & snuggling me... I saw myriad beautiful nude bodes sliding around in the warm sunlight and cool moonlight, people full of love and carefree spirits accepting every part of me...
How can I sum up all of the beauty? All of the joy, the pure freedom to simply exist as yourself, laugh at everything with love, and float on by all the smiling loving faces? How can I communcate the sense of kinship and family I feel with all of these previous strangers? This brotherhood, sisterhood, orrgiastic clanship, this tribe, you have become my own, my flesh and blood from lovemaking and my spirit and soul from so much joy and dancing and gracious gifts.
The main burn was intense, with me chanting "invoke invoke invoke invoke invoke" and feeling the hot licking flames sending energy into me as i danced around in a tribal frenzy. I melded minds in drum circles, discussed philosophy, slept in the beds and tents of strangers every night (strangers no more!) I was painted so many times, and had countless people looking out for my wellbeing and comfort. I was gifted clothes and jewelery, and some special intoxicants for no reason other than love and generosity. Everyone gave everything; at no moment did a single person exhibit any bad-vibeyness whatsoever, an incredible feat to pull off during 4 days with a 1000 people.
I love every single one of you. I hope you all remember me as that crazy kitty guy, cause I will most *DEFINITELY* be back in the fall... and next year... and the year after that. You have opened my eyes to something new and incredible and beautiful that I will NEVER be able to resist again. Coming back to "The Matrix" reality, this so -called "real life" has shocked me to no end in understanding just how free and loving you people all truly are and how incredible you are as bright shining jewels out here in this sea of confused and lost people. You are all my family and my lovers now. Those of you who have been doing this for years, resensitize yourself and witness the joy of a new virgin being brought into the gardens of PDF love. I will see you all again in a few months... and next time, I'll come even more prepared ;D
Thank you all, more than i can say.

Many thanks to our village members who had been generously throwing in many pieces of green paper at a time, so needed to obtain things in the dephault world! Nothing would have happened without your generous and loving support!

Our teamwork was incredible! We arrived to see a huge swamp in our camp.... and soon enough, a large team of arThous plus several people from other camps started working hard to turn the swamp into a fertile land upon which SEXODOME ended up standing.

Many booming thanks to our DJs -- Kamal and Tony, Tony and Kamal -- for keeping the speakers pumping with bass! I've been told that you could hear our awesome music as far as the front gate! Huge thanks to 28th Day Productions -- Lauren, Tony, Scott, Theo -- for the huge dance dome and the sound equipment!!! And thanks to Kamal for the disco ball and many other pieces of sound equipment we couldn't do without.

Many loving thanks to all who had helped us, especially our wonderful friends of Helaware -- Fritz, Mike, and Michelle -- who kept checking on us and making sure we have everything we need (and that's a pretty long list of arThowables!!!!!!) Your support was truly irreplaceable!

Many kind thanks to our friends of of Hope. Bob the builder saved our Danzdome by loaning us the super tall ladder, and a drill component needed to get the dome screwed (together), and laid (down on the ground, disassembled) afterwards.

Huge thank-you goes to all those adventurous beings who had put our SE)'(ODOME to great use on daily and nightly basis! It was amazing to see all of you naked jumping in and out of SEXODOME. My apologies to anyone I'd walked in on.... Please rest assured that we never disclose the identities of those pursuing the calling of lust at our dome!

Many thanks to everyone on the PDF staff who worked their asses off for many months to make PDF happen in the first place!

And last but not least, let's remember that Veteran's day is the time to commemorate our brothers and sisters who had given their lives for our country, so that we can have this amazing time with each other. OUR VETERANS, WE LOVE YOU DEARLY, AND WE COULD NEVER THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR THE AMERICA WE HAVE TODAY!

Our village would never, NEVER had been everything it ended up being, were it not for the wonderful beings of PDF -- like yourself -- who'd jump into the dome, unable to resist the amazing beats, and shaking their booties, boobies, and all other body parts to the beats so wonderfully arThowed by our DJs!

WE LOVE ALL OF YOU !!!!! PLEASE KEEP CUMING FOR MANY MORE PDFs TO COME!

PS. If there is anyone who'd help us, and I failed to give you proper thanks in this post, please reply here or contact me via PM -- I don't want anyone's help unacknowledged! We've had so much support from everyone, and I'd hate to see anyone's contributions go forgotten.

I wonder sometimes if everyone realizes how much work goes into putting camps together, dealing with yahoos, making sure that everyone has a good time WHILE ALSO respecting the space enough to come back again and again.

But also the love that we get from burners who volunteer their time to keep us alive. THANK YOU LIZARD. Lizard was and has been our EMT on call and I saw him working tirelessly last weekend when he wasnt on the naked slip and slide. From wrapping ankles to knees to giving out benadryl cream -- to more important things like making sure people stay alive!

I hope no one takes for granted with it really means that we have burners who volunteer their time because they love this community. We all have special skills and Lizard is a Wizard with a blood pressure cuff (and so much more)

So I know I had a couple conversations with folks who didn't even realize that PDF was a "burn" related event, or what Burning Man is, so I thought I'd post the 10 princples for anyone who is new to burning or to remind the rest of us why we do what we do :o)

Radical Inclusion
Anyone may be a part of Burning Man. We welcome and respect the stranger. No prerequisites exist for participation in our community.

Gifting
Burning Man is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.

Decommodification
In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience.

Radical Self-reliance
Burning Man encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on his or her inner resources.

Radical Self-expression
Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit, the giver should respect the rights and liberties of the recipient.

Communal Effort
Our community values creative cooperation and collaboration. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support such interaction.

Civic Responsibility
We value civil society. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting events in accordance with local, state and federal laws.

Leaving No Trace
Our community respects the environment. We are committed to leaving no physical trace of our activities wherever we gather. We clean up after ourselves and endeavor, whenever possible, to leave such places in a better state than when we found them.

Participation
Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

Immediacy
Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience.

Dear Fellow Burners,

I spent most of my time on 4Quarters land in fear of harassment from the staff members. I was physically assaulted, threatened, and had many other camp members threatened into submission by 4quarters staff. They have NO respect for the autonomy of women and no respect for Burning Man as a separate culture from their own. I was told MANY times that THIS IS NOT BURNING MAN, You're Guests on OUR land you have to follow OUR rules.

I have been to Burning Man (twice), Singularity (NV), Lighting in a Bottle - CA (twice), Transformus (SC), and PDF (twice) I have a good idea what a burn should be. TOLERANT! The Burner community is about radical inclusion and individuality! NOT threatening people into submission!

The way that they treated me and many others is INHUMANE! I write this letter and ask others to post their similar experiences so that no one else in our community will have to experience the horrible treatment that I received from the staff of 4 Quarters Farm.

My story of harassment, physical aggression, threats and intolerance, this is why I will never go back to 4 Quarters Farm:

I arrived at 4 Quarters Farm thrilled to find an escape from PDF and ready to set up an AMAZING theme camp! We had rented a Uhaul and filled it with lights, sound equipment, a full bar, smoke machines, decorations and everything else we could think of to have a killer party!

Upon arrival I was surprised not to meet any greeters (burners), but only the staff of 4qf, who seemed less than thrilled that we had brought all of this equipment. They had apparently misunderstood our completely blatant, and colorful email "a sea of writhing bodies, dancing all night to nasty beats in front of two twenty foot projection screens" and did not put us in sound town.

According to their reactions to us which were intense and unnecessarily aggressive they seemed to think their mistake was our fault. We were willing to work with them but would not agree not to play music. (Their requirement was that our music be no louder than our generator!?)

Friday night some great news came! Michael and Andrea (our liaisons) came down as we were setting up for the evenings festivities and said " Disregard everything you've heard up until this point. The woman (member) who was camping near here who was the problem has gone for the weekend. So have fun and do whatever you want."

And we did. We played music all night until about 4 and then turned it down to chill down-tempo music. (it was a great party!)

The harassment progressed from there.

First thing in the morning (as though someone was watching from the trees to see when we woke up), the croanies of 4qf rolled back into our camp shouting at us.
James (the "enforcer" thug with bone through his nose) was pointing his finger in a camp-member's face and yelling that we had disregarded their wishes and that we didn't listen to them last night!

When I tried to explain what we were told the previous night he reacted with physical aggression and more yelling.

After twenty minutes of this, two camp members in tears and the rest fearing their safety the "enforcers" finally left us alone.

On the way to the burn Saturday night everything seemed to be coming together, Monkee our dj had arrived! The rest of our camp who had been stuck in the traffic jam that morning arrived...

I was walking over to watch my friends spinning in the fire conclave before the burn when I was grabbed roughly by the arm.

"Are you in the fire conclave!?" barked Orren.

I pulled my arm out of his grip and responded "I was asked to be in it, but I decided not to spin tonight" and tried to continue walking.

He grabbed my hoops and yanked them pulling me closer to him and grabbed my arm again and began dragging me away from the conclave.

The whole time I was trying to pull free James (the thug) was yelling personal insults at me.

Yelling at him and trying to pull away I finally splashed him with my champagne, and he released me and my hoops.

Crying I ran over to my camp mates..

I did not even see the burn because I was so upset about the way I had been treated, I spent the whole thing crying in my tent alone.

After calming down I walked back to the burn area as it was concluding where my boyfriend and I were cut off my James and Kate who said.

"Take your dog home!" (about me) "She threw a drink at the head of our church, you have two hours to vacate the premises or we'll escort you off by force."
*(I'm certainly glad I'm not a part of a "church" who treats women that way.)*

We went back to our camp and lay down to sleep. (We were drunk and it was pitch black and we had and ENTIRE Uhaul to pack up, so there was no way it was going to happen that night)

We were roused from our tent by James, the really nasty balding guy with long blonde hair in the back and none on top, and Andrea yelling at our camp mates that we had two hours to leave or the police would be called.

Finally we came out of the tent and requested that they call the police. Someone who might actually treat us like humans and restrain the staff members from any further violence. They refused and said that we could stay until the morning.

At this point Andrea said "so how do we get the generator on, lets get the lights going and have some fun." NO WAY. That is our generator and Our lights!

When we woke up Michael and Andrea were sitting in our camp regaling my camp members with THEIR new and improved story of what had happened the previous nights. Conveniently forgetting to include the parts above highlighted in pink.

We come out of our tent, are consoled by our friends and others who have heard rumor of our treatment, and begin packing. Within an hour there were four Porn&Eggs members in our camp and 8-10 4q staff members standing menacingly watching us.

At one point Andrea began throwing chairs around the camp and throwing someone else's hoops at my pile of hoops.

After a few hours of packing I needed to use the ladies room so I asked a couple male camp members to escort me because I didn't feel safe going alone, I was right.

Two of their enforcers (one male one female) followed us demanding to know where we were going.

"the bathroom" I responded.

"Oh, no you're not! You can go piss in the woods, You're not going ANYWHERE"

"No, I am going to use the bathroom!"

Finally I was allowed, but I was only allowed the use of a port-a-potty (not the flushing toilets just a little farther)

AND

This man (The long blonde haired balding one) stood out side the bathroom door yelling at my camp mates.

Crying, and feeling terribly violated, I returned to camp and continued packing.

An hour or so later my boyfriend stopped packing to take a drink and talk to a camp member about what to do with some camp gear when we leave and James (bone-thug)
steps in between them about three inches from his face and

yells, "what the fuck are you doing!? there's no talking, keep packing!"

He responded "I'm taking a break"

"Hell no you're not, you're packing and leaving, get moving!"

At this point the blonde balding guy starts yelling at him too. They're both in his face yelling.

He asks "what are you going to do, call the police?"

"No, we don't need the police to deal with you, we'll take care of you ourselves"

When one of our female camp members interjected "You don't need to talk to him like that"

They turned on her put a hand out in her face and yelled "shut up missy, I'm not talking to you!"

"Well," She responded "I'm talking to you!"

"You're going to have to leave next if you don't shut the fuck up!"

Finally we've finished packing and our camp helped us load up the truck. We drove it up to pick up my car in the parking lot and headed out.

They followed my car far beyond the Four Quarters Sign, all the way to the concrete road and finally we were free.

I felt such a release of tension as I drove away from this beautiful land. I left 4 Quarters Farm in fear for my safety and as beautiful as the land is the people who run it are equally awful.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Pause
-The Vets, of course, for putting up with all us "crazies" and allowing us the use of their land.
-PDF organizers AND everyone that volunteers....without you, where would we be?
-Matt for his love, support, music to dance all night and day to, embracing our community the way he has, making all those pancakes, oh, and for rescuing me Saturday night from Trish when "Fino Vino" royally kicked my ass and I passed out at a "camp by the pavillion" and never made it to the theme camps ;-).
-Big E for being the stinkiest, sweetest, cutest and cuddly little mutt that you are.
-Julia, just for being you love.
-Suzi Q for gluing my lashes on each and every day.
-Hunnybear for your laughter, hugs and hearing several times a day, "Is that Smelly I hear?" and the bracelets and necklaces.
-Jordan and Amy for Camp Hope.
-Trish for appointing me "Deputy Ranger" and walking from camp to camp warming up by fires and finding gin while on your ranger shift.
-Issa for the loose glitter 'cuz you know I don't have enough glitter ;-)
-Our camp for being so freaking awesome and no drama....I love you all.
-Troy, for your kick-ass shade structure even tho' I didn't spend much time there.
-Nate for finally getting your butt to a burn and realizing what it is all about and understanding now why I am so crazy with anxiety of the good kind the weeks before ;-)
-Jill, for the, eh, condoms ;-) Yes, we know Matt has a problem ;-)
-Jeanine for the gorgeous hip scarf, I will treasure it forever.
-Maya, for the fuzzy orange cape when I was freezing in me "glitter whore" gear.
-Leland for your silly grin, you make me giggle.
-Stranger Dan, you are just so much fun to drink the "fine wine/fino vino" with. And, you look hot in glittery eyes.
-Maat and the Idea Dome, I totally enjoyed hanging out there Friday night in my travels.
-Barrel of Fun for my late night "monkey love" ;-)
-Camp Sexy for being, well, sexy!
-Ben for the cloves I bummed, I do indeed enjoy a clove now and again.
-Amy for her lovely jubblies.
-Tower of Power for the horsey I "adopted" from them ;-)
-All my friends old and new not mentioned, thank you all for making this one of my most fabulous burns yet. I love you all and feel so special to be a part of this "fine family" we have.

And, last, but certainly by no means, least..................................................

"FINO VINO", even tho' you kicked my ass with the bag of "fine wine" you carried so nicely, you are cherished and loved and you will be ready to kick my ass even harder in the fall ;-)
