Bring your dress up finery to Delaware and the Playa Del Fuego for a night of drinking, dancing, and debauchery under the stars at the Tower of Power Camp. Frank Sinatra! Archie Bell and the Drells! Brasil '66! Rammstein (but not really)!
Dress will (hopefully) be formal, but all are welcome.
Friday evening of PDF, 6:15 to 10:00 and beyond.
Food or drink contributions would be appreciated. Gin and tonics and assorted hour d'oeuvres while they last.

I'll admit, we arrived late, but we were still there inside the posted time. We were pretty dissappointed. -

We stuck around for quite a while after 98% of the partygoers left, but we can't play to an empty house. I certainly hope that the people who were there and enjoyed it told their friends to prepare, so it can be better longer.

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 6:12 AMOh you grabbed my bleeding (er, well hopefully not) beating heart with Gin And Tonic. That's my favorite drink. And according to Douglass Adams, (Hitchickers guide to the Universe geekdom fame) every populated world has a version of gin-an-tonic, although most don't taste the way we think of it, and of course due to interspacial differences, they aren't spelled the same way either. In fact, one planet calls them Jin-Anthonichs. Crazy you say? Yes, totarry.
I'll bring my best shirt/tie/shoe spit and shinola combo, and we'll see if this can happen. Anything is possible with love, and fashion.

But in any case, abso-tootly! I LOVE to swing dance, anywhere, anyone, anytime! And enthusiasm is what's MOST important. That, and not minding going flying into the bushes/crowd if you miss a hand-catch...

First tip: In swing dancing, you talk to your partner through your hands; never let go unless you know when you're going to grab hands again. You'll see.

Mon, June 9, 2008 - 6:56 AMI had really hoped to make this event and do some serious swing, but sadly my truck died, fully loaded, 20 miles short of PDF. Had to have it towed all the way back to DC, and didn't get on-playa until Saturday morning.
But hopefully there will be a formal in the fall, and we can swing it then!
And even with all the hassle, this PDF was spectacular. Definitely took things up a notch.
